The entire team at Tadlock Roofing is committed to making a difference in the communities we serve, and sometimes we even have the opportunity to give back by doing what we do best—great roofing work.
On October 5, we were honored to partner with ABC Supply Co. to donate a free roof to a deserving Panama City resident, Ms. Lorraine Biley.
Ms. Biley, who was connected with Tadlock Roofing through the Disability Resource Center of Panama City, said she has long needed a new roof, but the cost of a replacement was beyond her budget. As she works to make other necessary improvements to her home, Ms. Biley explained that this gift could not have come at a better time.
“I’ve needed a new roof for over 10 years now but have been unable to afford it,” she said. “The walls leak, floors are in bad shape, but this gift from Tadlock Roofing provides me with peace of mind in knowing my house is going to get fixed.”
Though the Disability Resource Center initially reached out to Tadlock Roofing with a request to tarp Ms. Biley’s roof, we knew that would not be a viable long-term solution, especially in the midst of hurricane season. So, in partnership with the Center and ABC Supply Co., we worked to do one better—give Ms. Biley a new roof that will protect her home for many years to come.
According to Jerome Brundage, a community living advocate with the Disability Resource Center, collaborations of this type are unusual for the Center, but this special partnership is an example of the life-changing work that can be done when companies understand the needs of the community.
“Typically, when we seek services for our disability client-base it’s from other companies who specialize in servicing those with a disability,” Brundage said. “It’s rare and special to work with private companies such as Tadlock Roofing and ABC Supply who take time to understand the needs of those with disabilities and actually do something to help. It makes our clients smile and makes all the difference in the world.”
Tadlock Roofing has built its foundation over the last 40 years on making a difference in the roofing industry, as well as in the lives of our employees and the communities we serve. As our company continues to grow, so does our ability to make a lasting impact in others’ lives.
