Tadlock Roofing Focuses on Sustainability Efforts

Tadlock Roofing is committed to conservation and enhancement of the environment.

We have continued to expand our sustainability efforts through partnerships with various organizations such as the Tampa Parks & Recreation Department and Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt.

In September 2017, Tadlock Roofing launched its “Sustainable September” campaign, during which the company pledged to plant a tree for every Tadlock roof sold in the month of September. The new Tadlock trees will be rooted during a company-wide day-of-service that will be held in December.

In conjunction with Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt, Tadlock Roofing also launched a “Tadlock Goes Green” Instagram contest in October 2017. The contest encouraged families to showcase the ways in which they go green at home for a chance to win a trip for four to Walt Disney World.

Sustainable Roofing Materials

Metal Roofing

Metal roofs, which are growing in popularity across Florida, have a host of eco-friendly benefits. They are more energy efficient, constructed with at least 25 percent recycled content, and are 100 percent recyclable when removed as part of building renovation or demolition. For added energy efficiency, consider installing painted metal roof panels. Lightly colored or reflective metal roofing coatings prevent solar heat gain, reducing your dependency on a cooling system.

Tile Roofing

Concrete and clay tile’s longevity reduces the need for reroofing, minimizing the waste that clogs landfills after a roof takedown.  Additionally, the concrete and clay tiles are mineral-based, nontoxic and can be reused in manufacturing. Recycled tile roofing is used to create artificial reefs and also used as clean fill for roads, homes and buildings.

Shingle Roofing

The base component of a shingle roof is asphalt, so when your shingle roof is taken down, it can be used to create new roadways. But, you don’t have to wait for your shingle roof to be replaced before enjoying its environmental benefits. By installing a “cool roof,” using Owen’s Corning TruDefinition Duration Cool Shingles,  you can enjoy beautifully rich colored shingles that reflect the sun’s rays and makes your home more comfortable and energy efficient.

Sustainable Roofing Services

Attic Insulation

Having a well-insulated attic will ensure that you use less energy and save on utilities while conserving natural resources. Tadlock Roofing has partnered with Owens Corning to provide homeowners with blow-in insulations systems that can be quickly and easily installed when installing a new roof.

Single Ply Roofing Systems

The light-colored, reflective roof surfaces of a single-ply roofing system could offer building occupants a significant reduction in energy use, points toward a U.S. Green Building Council LEED™ building certification, as well as the potential to downsize HVAC equipment.

Fluid Applied Roofing Systems

Using fluid applied roofing systems is an excellent sustainable roofing option because these systems are known to extend the lifespan of a building’s roof while also reducing the maintenance associated with the roof and its environmental impact.

Solar Attic Fans

When you remove excess attic heat in your home, you will reduce the strain on your HVAC system. Though running a traditional attic fan does lighten the load of your air conditioner, it often consumes more energy than it saves. Solar fans are powered by the sun, so they will reduce your consumption of fossil fuel and your carbon footprint.
